thoughts are things

thoughts are things

As an artist there’s this whole idea of seeking fame and dealing with the people who tell you to get a real job. You even doubt yourself!  Why shouldn’t they. I don’t know about fame but to earn a living doing what I love and doing it my way is WELL that’s my living dream.

I had to face a terrible truth in my heart. I had to realize that my PRESENT for a long time was filled with doubt. I had the desire but deep down I didn’t have faith in my art. Yes I loved my ideas and I wished but did I LIVE IN THE PRESENT? Did all of my daily to-dos and thoughts dedicate themselves to this desire? No.

All of the ones who are living the dream ALWAYS BELIEVED and its as the words of the great Muhammad Ali said,  “I am the greatest, I said that even before I knew I was.” He also said, “If my mind can conceive it, and my heart can believe it—then I can achieve it.”

The present may be a certain way but you must see the present as it is truly meant to be. The present is a gift! What you choose to think of it makes all the difference. Your present actions influence your behavior.

Imagine all the impossibilities that are possible.

Going to be a famous artist

Yes I long for the days when I can  decide to walk in my garden and then head to  my studio and paint. I could plan to travel to Mexico City for a workshop and stay at my Hacienda because it’s my place. What does it take? I read someplace that you have to walk your talk.

Some of the work that means the world to me.

Some new stuff

I found a great quote for this happy guy.  Be Strong in Witt.

Elvis walked around in an expensive jacket and pants. He took his guitar every place he went. YEAH …Elvis spent everyday living his DREAM until it actually came true! I’m going to do that.  I have BUT let’s be honest not exactly.  I’ve just been thinking. I mean I was on instagram posting my work. By my work I mean some good copy from Mary Kate Mcdevitt:

and thinking how awesome Mary Kate Mcdevitt’s work is. I love her style and YEAH she gives speeches and teaches classes. She has books and OH I love her work. SO there I was posting MY WORK and noticed the same old same old brush lettering video. I see so many of these and then I see work I’ve never seen gold watercolor or melted crayons melted  in an awesome heart shape and I ‘m like HOW DID THEY DO THAT. All I can think about is YES that’s  what I want. I am working on my story because I don’t want to compete. Yes I want to dominate with my story and my art.

Working on new stuff and exploring.  Working on my book.  Got to keep working!

-there are no impossibilities

Its an exciting but scary time…

when you have the whole world waiting to see what you will do. I  feel excited for all the kids who have graduated and will move to a new class with a new teacher or mo to a new place. Oh yes it stings to leave behind the friends you made and the places you are used too….even that routine “stuff” isn’t so boring.

Well now that you are you one step closer to you dreams  you are one year further from being that kid you used to be.

Oh but it’s  amazing to think of the unknown and not have all the answers. I mean who cares if you don’t know how to play. What matters is that you get to be in the game! What matters is that you smile, laugh and keep on keeping on.

I have posted a class and a few days ago and was nervous about it . I don’t have too many positive reviews and I understand. I mean yeah it’s not the professional video class you would expect. But who cares…because I created it with love and it would be nice if just one person can benefit from it. Oh my she has and I love it!!

I just have to explore and be open about all of my art no matter what someone might say. I have to get out of my comfort zone and how else will I improve.

Oh its the crayon that just makes me smile!

I don’t care about the reviews because I am on a journey and no journey is perfect.

  • This week I will be taking a sabbatical and working on a new  30 day journal.
  • Its the entire alphabet  and practicing one letter a day with a different tool.  (Coming in two weeks)
  • I will be working on my picture book. I am almost done with the manuscript.
  • I will also be drawing an object every day
  • I will draw outside more

So that’s it my summer plans. In July I will  be doing another art summer theme challenge.

Bye for now!
